Here is a video depicting one of my internal struggles. It is a conversation with myself. I made this video by following this tutorial. It’s worth 5 stars. I hope you can understand why I have this struggle, and why I can’t stop what I’m doing.
This video is a verbalization of a internal conversation that Edie has with her self. It is her subconscious feeling badly about what she’s done but also her knowing why she had to do it.
Check out my first PSA from the BWA in the WIDOW organization! I made it in iMovie for one of our community news updates. I think its definitely worth 5 stars
Here is a 5 star video for you all about a day in my life. I made it by taking pictures and videos of some of the things I did today. It started out pretty average, but then I had to cut it short to take care of some business..cleaning… Anyway, I made it by adding all these pictures and clips into iMovie and then adding the song “Rhapsody in Blue” to it. I wanted to make this video just so you could have an idea what my days can be like. Rather than explain it to you, I’ll let you watch it and find out! -Edie
For my video essay, I chose the movie “the postman always rings twice.” I chose this one because I had read the script for this story before and thought it would be nice be able to see what I had read come to life. Before watching it, I read Ebert’s “How to Read a Movie” and watched 4 of the videos on filmmaking. Those videos included:
The Top 20 cinematic techniques
Camera angles and technniques
Star Wars Continuity Mistakes
and Tarantino// from Below.
In order to make this video, I screenshotted some images from YouTube and Google and put them together in iMovie. I recorded myself in Audacity for one part and added that to iMovie. In another part, I did a voice-over straight into iMovie. I also used the 4kvideodownloader to download a video from YouTube of “the Postman Always Rings Twice” in order to add a clip from it into my video.
But, since this is a video essay, I don’t want to get too much into it, so I’ll let the video do the talking!
this video essay gave me a lot of trouble this week. I had a lot of problems trying to get the clips I wanted to use. I actually didn’t end up using my first choice because I could not get the clip. The next problem I had was getting the clips I downloaded into iMovie. I was finally able to get it all done, but its a little rougher than I intended.
With 1 star to go, I picked a 3 star assignment Inanimate Motion because it looked like a fun way to finish up my assignments.
To make this video, I worked with what I could find while studying in jepson. I used my camera and iMovie to make this video. Then i added a song that youtube suggested. Besides that, I think it speaks for itself. Enjoy
for 3 stars I chose the Video Assignment Create a Lyric Video. I chose this because I have seen many of these videos on youtube and thought they were cool. They’re also very useful when trying to find out the lyrics to a song, or sing along with a song.
In order to make this video, I created a color scheme on powerpoint and set that as the background for this by putting it in iMovie. In iMovie, I added the song “Shut Up and Dance With Me” by Walk the Moon, which I downloaded from iTunes. I chose this song because it has been stuck in my head the last few days and I can’t get it out! Next, I added text to the clips in my iMovie. I looked up the lyrics on Google too, just to make sure I would get them right!
I used a bunch of different transitions and fonts, and in some parts I altered the background to go with the lyrics, to signify a part where there are no lyrics, or just to have something different.
Anyways, here it is!
This week, I made the choice to do 8 stars of assignments. The first video assignment I chose was Vernacular Video– The History of a Word. It says to choose a favorite word and write about its history, but I thought this would be a good opportunity to tell the history of the name of my character, which I actually put a little more thought into than may have been expected. So, this assignment is the *4 stars* I’m relating to Edie. And because it has to include another character, I thought I would add similar information on July Laszakovit’s Isabelle Franklin.
In order to make this video I uploaded pictures I found on Google into iMovie on my computer. I then recorded myself on Audacity reading a short script that I wrote. I used Audacity instead of the record function on iMovie because I didn’t like how it was set up. So, after recording on Audacity, I exported my recording to iTunes and then uploaded it into iMovie. I then set the timing of the pictures to go along with what I was saying by adjusting the clips. Next, I exported the video and uploaded it to youtube! Hope you enjoy it
